In TIME, Oct. 5, Page 36, Column 3, we are confidently told that legislation is proposed to admit deaconesses to the priesthood. In other words, women are to be given Holy Orders in the Episcopal Church. A most egregious blunder. In the first place, a deaconess is not in Holy Orders as a deacon is, and is not "ordained" to her office or function but is "set apart."
