...University hockey squad had a stiff forty-minute scrimmage with Coach Humphrey's yearlings yesterday afternoon at the Arena, winning over the speedy Freshman sextet in a hard struggle. In the early part of the work-out it was evident that it was the yearling's first experience on the Arena ice, but the novelty soon wore off, and the University skaters had to stiffen up in order to check the growing attack which the Freshmen were uncovering. Coach Claflin's men evidently were not expecting to find stiff opposition and seemed to fall back to their old fault...
...Coach Humphrey sent the Freshman hockey squad against the second University sextet yesterday in his first effort to eradicate the faults shown in the game with Malden High last Saturday. The Saturday contest was no test for the yearlings as a very weak opposition was furnished by the schoolboys, but a lack of speed and team work was noticeable in the Crimson skaters. For the first time yesterday Coach Humphrey gave the men a few starts and followed with some rushing of the line on the defense.
