...preliminaries of the Middle Weight Sparring were between Hunt '92, and Linder '95. Linder for the first two rounds, acted almost entirely on the defensive and forced Hunt to do most of the leading. Hunt did some sharp quick work which seemed to discourage his opponent. In the second round, Linder held off evidently not relishing Hunt's attacks which came in quick succession, but in the third round Linder took a most creditable and plucky brace. He seemed to wake up for the first time and the round that followed was the hardest and most exciting event...
