...turns out that if I had, I would not have been welcome. One has two choices on the first page of eharmony.com: "Man seeking a woman" and "Woman seeking a man." In the first place, I'm not "seeking" anyone. One seeks a job. Unless you're a bounty hunter, you don't seek another person. For my part, I'd like to meet a nice...

...parties in that White House next year, yo!! You could probably get Eminem to play! I'd totally come to that!" In two hours, the comment was up on my pal Brownback's site and also on the pages of Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Mitt Romney, Dennis Kucinich, Duncan Hunter and Chris Dodd. I was taken with Dodd since his page includes his iPod playlists on the "Dodd Podd"--songs from Ben Lee, the Silversun Pickups, Arcade Fire. Who doesn't like a friend who turns them on to new music? But I finally had to eliminate Dodd because...

...entirely lacking substance. If anything, it's a model of political economy: There's the obvious reference to Romney's now-notorious "evolving" opinions (on gay rights, on abortion, on immigration), there's the more obscure dig at Romney's comic explanation for his spotty hunting record (the "lifelong hunter" has been on two hunts - "for small varmints, if you will"). ...Each Scarier Than the Other Although I agreed with Rchard Corliss's "10 All-Time Best Movie Villains" [May 7], I thought Robert Mitchum was even scarier in The Night of the Hunter than in Cape Fear, or maybe it was just that Shelley Winters was such a perfect victim. One of the best recent female villains was Polly Walker in HBO's series Rome. As Atia of the Julii, she is lovely, charming, sometimes even amusing, but always diabolically evil as she plots mischief, mayhem and revenge-and then flounces off to enjoy her latest male conquest. Rebecca Silverberg...

...others, let's clear the stage. There are three pairs of also-rans. Tommy Thompson and Jim Gilmore were fine Governors, but they have nothing to add here. Both of the right-wing populists, Tom Tancredo and Duncan Hunter, seem obscure and insubstantial, a classic problem for House members running for President; neither is as compelling as Pat Buchanan, who has played this role in the past. I've been surprised by how ineffective Tancredo has been in making his anti-immigrant pitch, which should have some resonance in the Republican Party. Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee seems...
