Robert Maynard Hutchins, president of the University of Chicago, again denied the rumor which was recently published in the Daily Maroon, the undergraduate publication, that he was being considered for the presidency of Yale University.
The article pointed out that President Angell has reached the retirement age, and that Hutchins, who is 37 and a Yale graduate, "may soon be asked" to succeed him.
"I have heard nothing of such an intention by Yale, and I can't get excited over a rumor carried by a student newspaper," said Hutchins.
In the first place, there seems small cause for this arbitrary readjustment. Most graduates are more than thankful for their four college years, and with good reason.
