Although the shifting of the University oarsmen continued yesterday, there seems at last to be a fixed University crew in sight. The crews rowed again without coaching as Dr. Hutchinson was unable to come to Cambridge in the morning, as was expected, and Mr. Higginson did not appear in the afternoon. The changes were wholly for the purpose of finally testing the prospective strokes, who appear to have been thinned out to include only Bullard, McGrew and Brownell...

...back without coaching. Bullard and Bancroft exchanged seats in the first boat several times. This row was merely to get the men together in their new orders, as today there will be hard work which ought to result at least in the final selection of a stroke. Dr. Hutchinson '90 will be in Cambridge this morning, and in order that he may have a chance to see the work of the crews, they will probably row in the morning. ...Second nine left Boston last night to play the University of Maine at Orono this afternoon. The Second nine has shown great improvement in batting in the last two games with Andover and the All-Leiter Cup team, and with Hutchinson pitching, should be able to play a hard game against Maine, which has an unusually strong team this year...
