Amidst the pano ly of band music, megaphones and college basketball regalia, a gung-ho Crimson quintet was outlasted by UMass last night 73-66 before a euphoric SRO crowd at the IAB in the season opener for both teams...
...begins at 11 a.m. Saturday in that magnificent sports edifice, the IAB, which once was the home of Theodore Roosevelt; (I don't understand that either.) The women's swimming team will open its home season against Boston University. At 2 p.m. the men will take the water and try to sink Navy. However, the Midshipmen will be well-equipped this season--each swimmer has his own nuclear submarine and missiles with long-range capabilities. This should prove to be one of the Crimson's toughest battles this year...
...spacious and well-lit basketball suite of the IAB, coach Frank McLaughlin will take his men's basketball team out to play Boston College. McLaughlin puts a lot of emphasis on student support, so I want to see all of you in the IAB to catch this game. This is a required event.
