Project Implicit offers a whole range of implicit association tests, from other races and various skin tones to a sexuality IAT. Again, FlyBy wonders what these tests seek to achieve. Such a program builds itself only on the ability to highlight racism where none may actually exist. This likely exacerbates the issue of racism, doing nothing to combat it, but trivializes it to the scale of what could be a Facebook app. Tired of the same old liberal versus conservative grids? Instead, check out my bigot meter... telling you that when I see faces of black people, I think...
...Obama, but implicitly they like McCain. Perhaps that’s playing a role in their undecided status.” The Implicit Association Test Web site recently celebrated its tenth anniversary, meaning that this is the third election cycle for which tests have been conducted. Speed is everything, since the survey tests automatic associations. When respondents are told to link the desirable traits to whites and the undesirable...

Take a taxi from the dancing fountains in front of the Wynn Macau hotel to the working-class neighborhood of Hac Sa Wan, where you can meet Ng Iat-keong, one of the many poor Macanese for whom the casino boom has been a bust. Ng, 45, is a construction worker who helped build some of Macau's hotel-casinos, including the biggest of them all, Las Vegas Sands' giant Venetian. Yet the money sloshing around in their plush suites hasn't found...
