Spoofed or otherwise, the spam that makes it to your In box is just the tip of the iceberg. At the four major e-mail providers--MSN (including Hotmail), Yahoo, EarthLink and AOL (which, like this magazine, is owned by AOL Time Warner)--between 40% and 70% of all incoming mail is killed upon arrival at their mail servers. But this has spawned a kind of spam arms race: the more mail is blocked, the more spammers send, in hopes that some will get through. As a result, the performance of the mail servers is starting to suffer. Two months...

...wonder how Nouman feels about the questions surrounding Iraq's weapons of mass destruction. I don't care if there aren't any. No one should have the ability to treat another human being as Nouman was treated. My guess is, she represents the tip of a despicable iceberg. It should be clear to even the most suspicious that the U.S. and its coalition partners have done the right thing. RICHARD WAGNER Flying Hills...

My companion choose tasso boeuf (beef marinated and cooked under a low flame, $6.50), and we both opted for a side order of fried plantains ($2.00). The meal began with a skimpy and unexciting salad: iceberg lettuce, shredded carrot and green pepper, served with honey mustard dressing. The goat and beef arrived, accompanied by the usual red beans and rice and fried plantains. The goat meat was tender yet chewy, soaked in the signature onion and green pepper sauce. The rice acted as a powerful absorbent...

Unfortunately, access is just the tip of the iceberg. The sad truth is that Gross cannot possibly understand the intricacies of all the issues that currently fall under both deans. We have been assured that the curricular review and the Ad Board are top priorities and will therefore fall under the new deanship, but what does that mean for everything else? Will Gross and his successors remember that cable television and better shuttle service are top student priorities? Will they care about keycard access, our pitiful MAC, and student group office space? It seems all too likely that, instead...

...Arab states, for protection against an invasion in exchange for doing the inspector's bidding. Perhaps mindful of the danger that Iraq could make diplomatic capital out of complying on the al-Samouds, President Bush warned over the weekend that the missiles were simply the "tip of the iceberg" of Iraqi non-compliance. Nonetheless, by taking a hit on his missile program, Saddam would certainly make things easier for those on the Security Council counseling further inspections rather than war as the international community's next step in Iraq. Then again, Saddam's calculations haven't always been the most...
