Died. Count Ilia A. Tolstoy, 67, grandson of Russian Author Leo Tolstoy, who immigrated to the U.S. in 1924 and became noted in his own right as an explorer, conservationist and ichthyologist; in Manhattan. As an OSS agent in World War II, Tolstoy led an expedition from India into Tibet to enlist the Dalai Lama's aid in preparing a last Allied redoubt in Asia, to be used if the Nazis and Japanese managed to link forces in India.
