...bring along BT's "Believer," a song which puts the "rave" back in "techno." And of course, no hip soundtrack is allowed on the shelves without a fresh new number from Fatboy Slim, in this case not-even-the-best-on-his-album "Gangster Tripping." Other highlights include Natalie Imbruglia's somber "Troubled by the Way We Came Together" and Goldo's "To All the Lovely Ladies." The Go soundtrack don't impress me much, but is nonetheless fun stuff. Like the movie, it's an exhilirating, even if non-commital, ride through music genres...
...high-ground; I'm just surprised--shocked even--that the editor of a magazine that ran articles like "This Cat Has Nine Wives" and "How Gangs and Sororities are the Same" is now the force behind articles on professional groupie Pamela Des Barres and damaged-but-still-insufferable Natalie Imbruglia. And there's a whole new generation of 14-year-olds who hate high school and probably Imbruglia and long for something real to hang on to in the meantime...

Judging from his modest Mutations, he slacked off, mellowed out and indulged himself rather than delivering another jolt of noise for the twenty-first century. The album is awfully pleasant, even affecting, with the rich twang of slideguitars, the whine of a harmonica and theoccasional exotic instrument imported to shakethings up a little. Beck is nearly as playful asever...
...fascinating listening--his voice has never been as versatile and expressive. It's also quite sexy, as the constantly screaming fans in the background emphasize. The talent is there--but the song itself is crap. A guitar in the background chokes out basic chords with an simple Natalie Imbruglia-esque rhythm as Morrissey churns out such drivel as "I danced myself out of the womb...Is it strange to dance so soon?....What's it like to be a loon?... I liken it to a balloon." Gag. Is Morrissey washed...
