...Bush seems to have a more fundamental problem with the estate tax, a problem reflected in his use of the phrase "death tax." Implicit in this phrase is an argument most commonly made by one of the estate taxes most prominent opponents, Rep. Bill Archer (R-Tex.): "Death as an event should not be taxed...
...know how to handle the Israelis, and they believe that the returning exiles have achieved pitifully little after seven years of negotiation. A growing number of Palestinians blame not only the Israelis, but also their current leadership for their current plight, and that makes the current intifada also an implicit protest against the Palestinian establishment...
...between saber-rattling, insist that peace talks can be resumed if the Israelis withdraw their forces to their pre-September 27 deployments, those leading from the street, such as Fatah activist Marwan Barghouti, insist they'll fight on until Israel has fully withdrawn from the West Bank and Gaza. The first and last tracks are even titled "11-09-70" and "11-09-00," respectively-obviously a reference to Scarface's 30th birthday, but strangely reminiscent of tombstone inscriptions. At the same time, this former Geto Boy struggles to make sense of himself, often to little avail. He nonchalantly disowns flashing Rolexes and popping Cristal champagne on "It Ain't Part II," only to extol the virtues of casual sex on "In & Out." But the moments...
