...route. Departing from London Stanstead, Eos's converted Boeing 757 aircraft carry just 48 passengers on the flight to New York (standard 757s hold over 200). These pampered few will dine on nouvelle cuisine and watch first-run movies on personal DVD players, while recumbent on fully flat, 78-inch-long beds. The bed is the centerpiece of the positively decadent 21 square feet of space allocated to each passenger, which also features a companion seat and a retractable table for t?te-?-t?tes. The benefits aren't just limited to the air. With so few passengers to process, boarding...
...Little Ponies” customized by various artists. But my quest for further information was interrupted by the first glimpse of one done-up-doll. When exactly did “My Little Pony” become anorexic?Perhaps this was just an exaggerated effect, since these 18-inch ponies are for painting, not play, I thought. Let’s not forget that, if we switched to metric, gasoline would go from costing (on average) $2.73 per gallon to $0.72 per liter—we all know that wouldn?...
When will Harvard (and America) join the rest of the world? We cannot and should not continue with pounds-per-square-inch when we could be using the far more elegant pascals. We cannot and should not continue with drams and stones, when centigrams and kilograms could be used instead. Metric is elegant (think: the French), while Imperial is ugly, cocky, authoritarian. (Perhaps it should continue to be used in the “red states,” but not anywhere near civilized folks...
