There are now in use instruments of 24, 16, 6, and 4 inch apertures besides two patrol cameras. Every clear night a group goes from Cambridge to Oak Ridge to take photographs because the conditions of light and atmosphere there are superior to those surrounding Cambridge. During the past week cloudy conditions have made these observations difficult. The 24 inch instrument is now testing a photoelectric cell that will be used in measuring the luminosity of faint stars.
