Thanks to a snappy rise in electric-power production, TIME'S Index rose to 174.6 (estimated) in the week of June 20, 0.6 point above the preceding week's final figure. Booming aircraft, ship and chemical plants in the Southern States pushed power output 18.8% over a year ago; on the Pacific Coast the gain was 17%. The U.S. total was up 11.7%.
