...consider him a "natural" driver, as they did Clark. Accurate and adaptable, he consistently picks the most efficient curb-shearing line around corners, which gives him an extra jump into the straightaway. At Silverstone, he crashed his car during a trial run, and had to race in a slightly inferior model usually driven by a teammate. On top of that, his clutch jammed on the fourth lap and he was forced to powershift for the remaining 80. Yet his average speed of 127.25 m.p.h. was nearly 10 m.p.h. faster than the existing track record-set in 1967 by Clark...
...only six square miles. Traditions are forgotten, and the only important tie with the past is the Supai language Yuman, now adulterated with American idiom. Young Havasupai who attend Government boarding schools return to the reservation confused about their place in the world. They feel inferior both to the white man and to fellow Indians from larger, more advanced tribes...
...sense, the Nixon Administration's bill would go beyond the 1965 law. It would apply a recent Supreme Court decision by suspending voter literacy tests across the U.S. on the grounds that they discriminate against those who have had an inferior education. The effect of the proposed change would force the Justice Department back to the slower, more costly case-by-case...

Still, Gill and his charges had me believing for a stretch of two-and-a-half hours that Much Ado is really a good play--and that is no mean achievement...
STRATFORD, CONN.--The new production of Henry V, as conceived and directed by Michael Kahn, never fails to hold the attention. It is, however, essentially a wilful distortion and cheapening of Shakespeare's play. Last season Kahn, with daring and imaginative updating, achieved the seemingly impossible by turning the inferior and (I thought) no-longer-viable Love's Labour's Lost into a dazzling success. Now, having been promoted by the Festival's top brass to the post of Artistic Director, the 30-year-old Kahn has applied the same daring and imaginative updating to a play that is simply...
