Somewhat later Touré told a plausible story of murderous rivalries within Cabral's independence movement. The mastermind of the plot, said Touré, was Inocentio Camil, a top aide in Cabral's African Party for the Independence of (Portuguese) Guinea and Cape Verde (islands), known by its initials in Portuguese as PAIGC.
