Last week a second Ike teammate announced he would make the try. In Lincoln, Neb., former Interior Secretary Fred A. Seaton announced he would run for Governor of Nebraska; he will probably face conservative Republican State Chairman Charles Thone in a primary next May. When the Congo's martyr-demagogue. Patrice Lumumba, died last winter deep inside Katanga, territory of his bitter political foes, the Katangese Minister of the Interior said: "If people accuse us of killing Lumumba, I will reply, 'Prove it.' After the war, in which he served as an enlisted infantryman on the Russian front, Schröder joined the Christian Democrats, at Adenauer's urging campaigned in 1949 for the Düsseldorf seat in the Bundestag that he still holds. As Interior Minister, Schröder was famed for inept statements, most notably his breathless announcement that defecting Counterspy Otto John had been "kidnaped" by the East Germans in 1954.
