Victor Wooten's playing was amazing as usual, but the man didn't hog the limelight. The most notable part of Wooten's contribution to the band (besides being the best bass player in the world) is his interplay with band and audience members alike. As he stood out on the thrust of the stage and talked through his instrument in a million ways, it became obvious exactly what the word 'virtuoso' meant. Some have termed Victor's playing "musical masturbation"--whatever it is, it feels good...
...took center stage for the next work, the Sonata in D Major for Violin and Basso Continuo by Jean-Marie Leclair, which she performed with Cunningham and Moll. Huggett and Cunningham have performed together as part of a chamber group, the Trio Sonnerie, and it showed in the lively interplay between the two musicians. Huggett's clear, sharp playing was a marvel, and both Cunningham and Moll, who provided a solid background to Huggett's soaring violin, ably supported...

He loves sending his vehicles screeching through narrow European streets, and he apparently loves trying to top himself, because there are three such sequences here. They are done the old-fashioned way, by stunt drivers, which gives these thrill sequences an immediacy, a nervy elan that special-effects techies...
...Quaker to Starr's more evangelical brand of Christian; a liberal to Starr's Federalist Society conservative; a man who does his pro bono work for the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, while Starr moonlighted as counsel for a conservative Wisconsin foundation's fight for school choice. Their interplay became all the more intriguing last week when the heretofore academic question of whether the President can be subpoenaed became a very, very real one. Although the move put both sides into uncharted legal territory, it seems fairly certain that a sitting President--unlike Whitewater defendant Susan McDougal...
