On April 9 Plaskett received the Rumford Prize of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in Boston, at which time he addressed the Academy on the subject of the Gases in Interstellar space. Dr. Plaskett has also been awarded the Gold Medal of the Royal As tronomical Society for his researches in the rolation of the Galaxy. His son is Professor H. H.
