Choosing a government in Ireland is a serious business - almost as serious as horse-racing. Dublin bookie Paddy Power says he covered 30,000 bets totaling $1.5 million during the three-week campaign that concluded when ballots were cast yesterday. Other bookmakers reported similar takings.
