...almost bare stage (set by Isamu Noguchi) dominated by a fantastical red classroom "barre'' that resembled a misshapen ironing board, five sets of dancers twisted in a brilliant but broadly exaggerated spoof of technical dance movements to Carlos Surinach's wittily parodistic score. At one point, three girls stood on the wide barre casually doing deep knee bends while three male members of the company lying beneath them mirrored the action in reverse. Choreographer Graham's part in the whole thing consisted of sulking behind a screen, emerging occasionally to freeze the whip-flicking ballet master...

Maze for Money. Once committed, Rose plunged into the project with characteristic energy, planned to make his sculpture's new home in Jerusalem the best money could buy. He retained Isamu Noguchi, a sculptor who doubles in landscape design, to lay out a sloping, five-acre garden adjoining the National Museum where the collection will be displayed on natural rock pedestals in a maze of stone walls, cypresses and jasmine bushes. Also widely admired was the almost-too-pretty 20th century Japanese garden, complete with arched bridge and 82 tons of imported Japanese stones, created by Japanese-American Sculptor Isamu Noguchi. Mexico's Rufino Tamayo, with his mural of Prometheus, gave viewers one of the few art works with a recognizable theme. Unfortunately, it was set in the rear of the main commission room, visible to delegates only on leaving. Staff members also discovered some unexpected rough spots in the building...

...Tokyo TV Tower, it looks like Paris' famed Eiffel Tower, and when a 250-ft. antenna is added to it this fall, it will rise 1,082 ft. above Japan's capital and Tokyo Bay, beating the Eiffel Tower by 65 ft. Designed by Aerodynamics Expert Isamu Kamei to withstand 210-m.p.h. winds at its top and an earthquake twice as violent as the one that leveled Tokyo in 1923. the $7,000,000 tower will boast a glass-enclosed observation platform and restaurant at 400 ft.
