...drawing room comedy, very proper and very British, much in the tradition of Oscar Wilde. As in the majority of Coward's plays, the plot is thin and somewhat contrived. The action transpires in the studio of star actor Garry Essendine, revolving around the amorous antics of the forty-ish stage idol and his claque of friends and admirers...

...SOCIETY'S production at the Agassiz does full justice to Iolanthe. Here and there, of course, there are minor disappointments--probably due to lack of money rather than lack of talent. The scenery for the opening act in Fairyland looks fourth grade-ish: it consists of three huge white bedsheets painted green and hung as sylvan backdrops. The other set, though--Joe Mobilia's piquant idea of what the Houses of Parliament look like is much better, though whether Rarry or Pugin would recognize it is a good question...

He is adamant on Israel, but attributes its recent problems...

It started at the Circle Theatre in Cleveland Circle, Brookline--one of the most art-gallery in the-lobby-ish, popcorn-at-a-dollar-a-kernel, fancy-carpeted moviehouses in town--yesterday...

...spite of its ambitious designs, Amnesty has its limitations. White observes that "it would be Pollyanna-ish to say that we're always successful." It is of course impossible for Amnesty to find out about all the political prisoners in the world. After imprisoning someone for political reasons, governments are naturally not anxious to publicize the matter and usually do their best to conceal it. "We are only handling a miniscule amount compared with the problem," White concedes. Amnesty must still reject even some of those cases that come to its attention, due to sheer volume. "We're successful with...
