...AFGHANISTAN Aid Workers' Trial Taliban leaders said they would hold a trial under Islamic law for eight aid workers accused of preaching Christianity, but that their fate would ultimately be decided by the militia's leader. Relatives were allowed to visit the eight foreigners, who are among 24 detained employees of the German-based charity Shelter Now International. According to a decree issued in June, the foreigners face prison terms followed by deportation. But the 16 Afghan workers face the death penalty if they are convicted of conversion from Islam...

A judge said Fatima Haqiqatjoo's criticism of a journalist's arrest in February insulted state bodies and spread propaganda against Islam.
