...first event was the 220 yards hurdle race, (three quarters distance), the entries being E. B. Bodley, L. S., S. Wells, '91, A. S. Walcott, '91 and T. J. Stead, '91. The men got away well together but Stead struck the first hurdle which practically threw him out of the race. Bodley proved too fast for his compamons and won in 181/2 seconds.
