...first trustworthy account of the aftereffects of the atomic bomb came last week from a Dutch surgeon who was in a Nagasaki prison camp when the bomb fell. (Of 200 Allied prisoners, four were killed; four died later). The surgeon, Captain Jacob Vink, challenged one Jap claim: he doubts that anyone entering an atom-bombed city afterwards would suffer from radioactivity.
