That expectation reckoned without Ramanathan Krishnan, 29. Krishnan won one singles match from Mandarine, teamed with Jaideep Mukherjea to take the doubles, and wrapped it up in a marathon match against Koch 3-6, 6-4, 10-12, 7-5, 6-2.
