Another major sign of how much life has changed is the outpouring of honors for Thomas Masaryk, the country's first President, and his son, the late Foreign Minister Jan Masaryk, who was probably murdered by the Communists. ...Miami, Jan. 8, 1969-The Green Bay Packers today defeated the Oakland Raiders 6-0, in the third annual Super Bowl game at Miami's Orange Bowl. The winning touchdown was scored by the Packers' general manager, Vince Lombardi, who took a handoff from Publicity Director Chuck Lane with two minutes to go and scuttled six yards around left end with his aloha shirt flapping. A crowd of 17 fans turned out for the game, which was blacked out on nationwide TV. There was some fear that the game might have to be postponed when beer vendors refused...
Androcles (Gene Troobnick) and his wife Megaera (Jan Miner) enter and prove well cast indeed. Miss Miner's role is a short one, but she is properly attractive, ample, and shrewish. Curly headed Troobnick, imported by the Festival just for this role, fits to perfection Shaw's prescription of "a small, thin, ridiculous little man." He has no trouble convincing us of his great love of animals, and is wholly at home in Shaw's amusing baby-talk (such as "Did um get an awful thorn into um's tootsums wootsums?").
