Iolanthe."Iolanthe" is now running through its last week at the Globe Theatre. Last night was a benefit night, and the "Rose of Auvergne" was added to the bill. Miss Marie Jansen, as usual, received a large share of the applause-her rendering of the songs, "Be Good," and "Listen to the Tale of Woe," being exceptionally fine. Miss Esther Palliser acquitted herself in a very creditable manner, giving assurance that her testimonial tomorrow, at which she will play "Marguerite," will be a great success...

Iolanthe.Gilbert and Sullivan's charming opera was played last night at the Globe before a large and enthusiastic house. Miss Marie Jansen filled the title role and was loudly applauded, although Miss Esther Pallison carried off the honors in the much more important part of Phyllis. Mr. George Lauri was exceedingly amusing as the "highly susceptible Chancellor" and Mr. J. C. Campbell made a very appropriate Stephen. The singing was excellent, the acting good and the scenery pretty. The satisfaction of the audience showed that Gilbert and Sullivan's old favorites have lost none of their popularity...
...stage effects were excellent and the costumes were especially effective and true to the scenes which they represented. The chorus was strong, as usual. The scars of the evening were of course Mr. Wilson himself who made some capital hits and played his part to perfection, and Marie Jansen whose fascinating manner took extremely well with the audience. The story of the "Oolah" itself is amusing and well worked up in every detail...
