ST. LOUIS, MO.—The Harvard wrestling team's Jesse Jantzen has said that he has been looking forward to winning a national championship since he first came to Harvard.
Not surprisingly, No. 1 co-captain Jesse Jantzen (149 lbs.) handled his two opponents with ease. He won his first match with a technical fall in the third period and then defeated his second opponent of the day 13-6 to move into the Elite Eight.
“It's terrific,” said Harkness, who was attending the tournament. “Jesse is really an outstanding wrestler. He's way out of his league.”
Ranked first in the nation all year and with just one loss on the season, the Harvard wrestling team’s Jesse Jantzen is in position to accomplish something that no Crimson grappler has done since the Great Depression.
