...Hendrix family regained control over the bulk of his music and has been systematically releasing archival material. Hendrix-catalog manager John McDermott says there are some 1,500 tapes - almost all as yet unheard by the public - left in the vaults. On September 12, Experience Hendrix/MCA will release "The Jimi Hendrix Experience," a four-CD boxed set featuring 56 previously unreleased or unavailable songs.
