On the premiere, he was finished off by his continuity writers, lusterless Songstress Joey Heatherton, and Comic Richard Pryor, whose contribution was a tasteless impression of a Negro preacher. Even more painful is The Queen and I (CBS), a situation comedy whose plot is Bilko at sea. Very much at sea- the Queen being an ocean liner headed for mothballs. Keeping it afloat...
...storm in twenty years did not stop 10,000 fans from coming to see the Harvard hockey team defeat B.U., 5-3, last night at Boston Garden and subsequently win its first Beanpot championship in seven years. Harvard performed its best overall team effort of the season while sophomore Joey Cavanagh was picked the most valuable player of the tournament...
...first period started fast with Harvard getting a quick jump at 2:57 when sophomore Joey Cavanagh picked up a Dan DeMichele pass, skated in and netted the puck from 10 feet. A Harvard penalty at 7:03 gave B.U. an advantage but a great defensive effort by Harvard combined by several spectacular saves by Bruce Durno averted any score. The rest of the period saw more fine defensive play by both teams preclude any further score...
