Arrangements for the Harvard-Princeton joint debate are progressing satisfactorily, and the debating societies at Princeton are very enthusiastic. Princeton will propose the question, and Harvard will have the choice of sides. The competitive debate to choose Harvard's representatives will be held shortly after the Christmas recess and will be conducted on the same plan as the debate to choose speakers for the Yale debate. ...practice during all this week will be constant and hard. Coach Woodruff will try to work the soreness out of every joint before Friday evening, when the men leave for Springfield to see the Harvard-Yale match. Fifteen men will go, including the captain and coach, consisting of Bull, Wharton, Woodruff, Wagonhurst, Minds, Rosengarten, Gelbert, Williams, Osgood, Brooke, Off, Farrar and Upton. After witnessing the game the men will leave for home the same evening, arriving Sunday morning. Harvard Union.The Harvard Union has received a letter from the Princeton debating societies in regard to the joint debate. As Princeton is going to debate with Yale at New Haven and Yale is to debate with Harvard at Cambridge, Princeton wishes the debate to be held at Princeton. They also propose a compromise in regard to the form of the debate; that there should be three twelve minute speeches followed by either two six minute rebuttals on each side or by one twelve minute rebuttal to be used as each side sees fit.
