Georgia representative Bob Barr's rationalization of his appearance before the Council of Conservative Citizens [LETTERS, March 1] was a joke. You would be hard-pressed to find anyone, Democrat or Republican, who believes that neither Barr nor his staff inquired about the aims of the council, which is described as a "white-supremacist group," prior to his arranging to speak before it.
