K. C. Jones played basketball with the world championship Celties for nine seasons. As of July first he will become assistant coach for the Crimson basketball team.
A few minutes later K. C. arrived from lunch, and I began my interview with a great line. "Aw, hi, You're Mr. Jones," I said.
Jones became head coach at Brandeis in 1967 after retiring from the Celtics and recorded a 36-33 record during three years with the Judges.
During his nine seasons with the Celtics, Jones played on eight straight World Championship teams.
Jones will have a strong core of guards to tutor next year. Captain Dale Dover Matt Bozek and Joe Stanislaw will be returning to the varsity while Jean Wilkinson and Stan Mark lead an impressive backcourt contingent from the 17-2 freshman team.
