While the unmitigated glee some have shown towards Kaavya has clearly been unjust and unwarranted, it needs to be made clear that her behavior is not acceptable. But the role of passing judgment and of meting out punishment belongs to the authorities; in the case of rape, murder, or theft, it is not the community that passes judgment but rather, the courts of law.
