Rumors of an impending putsch by Hitlerites caused Dictator von Kahr and General von Lössow, Commander of the Bavarian section of the Reischswehr, to issue a joint manifesto stating that they had evidence of the putsch and that they were taking every necessary precaution to safeguard the State.
