...profile did provide something of a focus for the formless dread, but it seemed to do nothing to help catch a killer. At week's end another body was found, this one floating in the South River in De Kalb County, bringing the death toll to 20 victims. The body was identified as that of Curtis Walker, 13, who had been missing since Feb. 19, when he failed to return home after looking for after-school work. Officials speculate that Walker's body may have been dropped into the river upstream from an overpass. Cause of death: asphyxiation...
...when he failed to return home from a job at a snack bar in northwest Atlanta. The task force is also hunting for Darron Glass, 10, who was last seen in September. The death of Aaron Wyche, 10, whose body was found last June in De Kalb County beneath a railroad trestle, was originally classified an accident; investigators have now determined that his death was due to asphyxiation and was similar to some of the other cases...

He eventually interviewed ten of the 18 members on Solidarity's presidium. "I have become quite fond of the Polish people over the course of this assignment, and have made a number of friends -among them, members...
Amfitheatrof had just returned to Rome from the earthquake-shattered villages of southern Italy when he was called to help Kalb in Poland. With a Polish visa, prudently obtained back in August, he was able to fly directly to Warsaw and spend part of a day with Solidarity Leader Lech Walesa at church and at Walesa's home outside Gdansk. "The Poles are marvelously brave and calm," observes Amfitheatrof, who along with Kalb witnessed last week's emotional unveiling of the workers' monument in Gdansk. "Whatever the future holds for them has enormous implications for Eastern Europe...
