Maidenform has now replaced its ad agency, Creamer Inc., with Wyse Advertising. President Lois Wyse, who has written 30 volumes of love poetry, says her campaign will emphasize "romance rather than blatant sexuality." Maidenform, though, insists that it will continue to display its products in its ads. Says Edward Kantrowitz, vice president for advertising: "The only way you can show our merchandise properly is to put it on models...

Understandably, "The Files," as it is known to the cognoscenti, has become a cult feature on college campuses everywhere. Or at least my brother watches it, and a friend of his, and the former sports editor of The Crimson. Maybe you don't believe me. One of the speakers in Denver, Science Historian June Goodfield, a visiting professor...

...Kantrowitz's court would not resolve such social questions as how much risk the public is willing to accept from nuclear power plants, or how much jet aircraft noise it is willing to endure. These issues, Kantrowitz says, will always be determined on more personal or political grounds. But he believes such a court could prevent the misuse of science in deciding such issues. "Those voting on an issue will at least not be able to claim a scientific reason for their choice," he contends. "They'll have to explain it as a value judgment...
