Parkman was one of the outstanding students while at St. Mark's, being honored with a monitorship there. He matriculated at Harvard in the fall of 1915 and completing his course in three years, he was graduated Magna Cum Laude and a member of the Phi Beta Kappa society with the class of 1918.
