Watching Iran's turmoil from thousands of miles away in Morocco was one very interested observer: deposed Shah Mohammed Reza Pahlavi. Iran's government, declared Foreign Minister Karim Sanjabi, would press for the Shah's extradition "until there is no place he can go except for Israel or South Africa."
