...long as you stay on the path. So if you want to travel the way of Jesus, the way of the Prophet Muhammad, if you want to travel the way of Buddha or Bodhi Dharma, if you want to travel the way of a great chess master like Kasparov or Fisher - any way you can reach self-enlightenment or self-worth works. Many great men have left paths for us. In the end, we are all searching for the same thing. We're just taking different routes to the same location...
...know when Garry Kasparov took on that IBM computer in chess? This is sort of like that, only with cookies instead of chess, and an Excel spreadsheet instead of a giant computer and Kerry Simon instead of Kasparov. But still, it's better than Bruce Willis against hot robots without midsections...
Moskalenko is a very high-profile target. She has won 27 cases against Russian authorities before the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg and has some 100 more pending. Moskalenko represents the jailed former Yukos CEO Mikhail Khodorkovsky and the former world chess champion Garry Kasparov, now an opposition leader. Moskalenko also represented the journalist Anna Politkovskaya, who was shot to death two years ago as she was entering her house in downtown Moscow. Moskalenko now represents Politkovskaya's family. Moskalenko discovered the poison just as she was set to travel to Moscow to take part in pretrial hearings...

...Tribute to a Troubled Genius As an elementary-school chess coach, I read with great interest Garry Kasparov's tribute to the late, great Bobby Fischer [Feb. 4]. Although chess is thriving where I live, I have noticed that many talented young players have never heard of Fischer, and those who have do not view him positively. It is sad that he was never pardoned for violating a U.S. ban by playing a 1992 match in Yugoslavia. He was a chess champion who was not welcome in his own country. I think that may be partly to blame...
