There was keen competition in all the events run on the first day of the eighth annual Winter Carnival yesterday. The dashes, hurdles and class relay trials were particularly close. The race between 1914 and 1915 was hard-fought, the Juniors getting the lead in the last four relays and keeping it to the finish.
