These men have been rowing together since shortly after the class races and will no doubt row in the Yale race. The faults of the individuals are somewhat as follows: stroke, keeps his oar too near the water and often hits it; he keeps his oar feathered too long, drops down at the full reach and hangs; yanks in his arms at the finish. ...that no mention has yet been made of any contest for the sculling championship of Harvard. For this race there is a fine silver challenge cup to be held by the winner one year, besides a plated cup presented by the H. U. B. C. to the winner to keep permanently. On the cahllenge cup the winner may have his name inscribed. Sculling is a very fine sport in itself, and once started would no doubt become popular. It is a pity that with all the facilities at the Weld boat house there should not be a good annual race...
...other hand Yale has strengthened her hold on several events. The intercollegiate games, therefore, will be unusually close, and will probably be decided by the scores from second and third prize. The H. A. A. must not forget this, nor depend too much upon their champions. If they keep in mind the responsibility which rests upon the less prominent athletes, they may hope to add another and crowning success to their creditable list of victories, and Harvard, to end the season with at least one championship...
