Some colleges, like Kennesaw State University in Georgia, aggressively recruit home schoolers. Justin Tomczak, 22, now a sales associate for Salomon Smith Barney, was one of them. After he arrived at Kennesaw several years ago, he started a group for home-schooled kids, but today home schoolers have become so integrated into campus life that the group has pretty much disbanded. "Back then, [other students] thought we were religious weirdos who couldn't cope," he says. "Now the perception is totally different...

Skeptics insist the real problem with the law is that most criminals bypass gun shops in favor of underground dealers. ``It's easy for the criminal to get a gun,'' scoffs Dent Myers, who owns a Civil War surplus store in Kennesaw, Georgia, where the town council passed a law last year obliging every head of household to own a gun. ``They don't go to the store, because the waiting period for an illegal gun is about five minutes--or as long as it takes to open up a trunk...

In 1986, Jeffrey had written that the junior high school program in question contained "no evidence of balance or objectivity. The Nazi point of view, however unpopular, is still a point of view and is not presented, nor is that of the Ku Klux Klan." Moving quickly to avoid a prolonged, Clintonian embarrassment, Gingrich fired the professor the same day the evaluation came...

...more than sobering to note that several towns have reacted to Morton Groves' handgun ban by swinging to the opposite extreme. A 1982 law in Kennesaw, Georgia, requires the head of every household to possess a gun and ammunition. In fact, the town went so far as to "supply just about any sort of firearm" to those who couldn't buy them. It is a wonder that they did not enact mandatory target practice. This law represents not just a legal response to local gun control, but an armed response. It is as if the NRA is readying itself...
