Harvard played a fair fielding game in the first part of the game but their batting was very weak. They did not seem to hit the ball squarely and they kept batting it into the air. This proved disasterous with such a fine fielding team as Yale has. Campbell caught remarkably well, and Boyden pitched a good game up to the eighth inning.
