Secretary Warren F. Sheldon of the alumni council of Wesleyan University, estimates that the college deficit this year, due to war conditions, will be from $30,000 to $35,000, in a total annual budget of about $200,000. A large freshman class has kept the deficit from being considerably larger than it otherwise would have been. The college finances have, however, decreased about 40 percent in the three upper classes.
