Yale won the toss and chose to depend the sunny side to kick to Harvard. Sensational playing began by Rotan kicking to Wood, the Harvard captain. By a lateral Crickard proceeded 25 yards to the Yale goal line, being forced out on Yale's 5-yard line. In two successive plays Crickard and White failed to gain.
