When the second half opened, Gilbert had been substituted for Butt, M. C. Peirce for Forster, and Grant for Nourse. Springfield kicked off to Rand who juggled the ball, Starr falling on it behind the goal line for a touchback. Burr punted to Honhart, who passed forward, Starr getting the ball. After a failure to gain, Burr fell back to punt, but the kick was blocked. After the kick-off, the second returned the ball to Starr on a punt. Starr was downed on the middle line and after two rushes, netting five yards, an onside kick was recovered on the 25-yard line. From there the ball was rushed ever the line by Apollonio after a series of steady tandem bucks. On the next kick-off after an exchange of punts and a forward pass, the second punted to Wendell who ran back 25 yards to the second's 25-yard line. Apollonio then made the second touchdown after another series of tandem plays...
