...niche groups. I agree. I think it's healthy, actually. I think the most interesting art is inevitably created on the fringes - on an underground level. I don't say that to be snobbish. I just think art thrives best when it's created without regard to making any kind of compromise to get in front of a bigger audience. Where does American Idol fit into all this? I think American Idol is as big as it gets when it comes to music. It's kind of like the last vestige of the old music industry. Clive Davis has a role in it - he puts out a lot of the records those artists make after their Idol experience. What you were talking about earlier regarding the next big mainstream phenomenon - right now, American Idol is the phenomenon. ...website's home page reads, "Redefining the World of Golf Entertainment." At first glance, it's easy to wonder if the site is advertising some kind of golf-escort service. Are marketing ploys like Play Golf Designs setting women's sports back a decade or two? "When women athletes are treated as sex objects, it runs contrary to the spirit of equality that laws like Title IX are intended to promote," says Jocelyn Samuels, vice president for education and employment at the National Women's Law Center. (See the top 10 female sports heroes...

...Duhau Resturant & Vinoteca: Prime attraction at this minimalist venue within the Park Hyatt Buenos Aires, www.buenosaires.park.hyatt.com, is a red-walled, walk-in cheese room - the first of its kind in Argentina, highlighting as yet relatively undiscovered Argentine artisanal cheeses based on European styles. The maître fromager encourages producers to age cheeses exclusively for the restaurant. Tasting plates served at a marble communal counter table include an earthy brie from Córdoba; Cordon, a goat's cheese from Mendoza aged 15 months; and Morbier, Manchego and Parmesan-inspired cheeses matched with fresh-fruit marmalades and outstanding Argentine malbecs...
